Decorated DTE goads Cisco Gold Partners

VAR Dynamic Technologies Europe (DTE) believes its recent accreditation drive will allow it to outgun Ciscos largest UK partners.

Bletchley-based DTE claims it is on course to become Ciscos seventh Unified Communication System (UCS) partner and has just become the vendors eleventh fully specialised datacentre partner. It is also undergoing its audit for Cisco Silver.

Sales director Gary Dobson predicted the firm would almost double 2010 turnover to more than £8m after booking £2m in revenue already this year.

He said the new certifications would enable DTE to take on, and beat, less nimble Cisco Gold partners.

Ciscos other fully specialised datacentre partners are Dimension Data (Didata), 2e2, BT, Computacenter, Capita, IBM, Kcom, Logicalis, Block Solutions and ANS Group.

We are no Didata if we need to go lower on margin its not going to get lost in a system of cogs, said Dobson.

Founded in 1999, DTE has just launched Dynamic Technologies Federal to service the US market. It also holds accreditations with VMware, Juniper and IBM.

Dobson added: We want to be acquired. We would love someone to come along at some point and say here is some money to build the company as quickly as you want.

Gary Middleton, business development manager at Didata, which already holds the UCS accreditation, shrugged off DTEs challenge:

Globally we are doing well with UCS, he said. The way the technology meshes into the network plays into our favour, because we are the market leader in the networking space.
