Before we start, first of all let me wish you all a Happy New Year from all of the team here at Dynamic Technologies Europe.

2015 saw big news and changes in the networking technology arena. From potentially game changing acquisitions and mergers, such as HP-Aruba and Dell-EMC; to the continued march of mobility and connectivity, including IoT and IoE.

You might recall we made some predictions at the start of 2015 (here just to refresh your memory.) So lets take a look at what the DTE experts think will be big in 2016!

Making Sense of the Enterprise Environment with ACI

INTRODUCTION:

Enterprise environments have become more complex as the shift in IT know how has moved from the "IT Geek" into mainstream knowledge. It is not that long ago that the concept of using a wireless home network to stream cloud applications would have terrified my mother, yet as it stands she is know fully aware of how o get the best out of her broadband, TV, mobile, kindle and plethora of gadgets. (I blame Star Trek for preparing us all when we were younger for the concept!)

My point is that we know have the technology dream on the horizon, IoT or IoE depending on who you talk too. For the enterprise class business this means the potential to improve running costs, deliver better business outcomes and strengthen the competitive edge. managing, and running these new super massive networks is going to be costly. Just look at the current cost of operations in IT budgets, many industry pundits predict 75-90% of IT budget is spent, not on the technology but operational costs. That is a lot of your budget that is simply not getting used to its best.

Application Centric Infrastructure from Cisco has and will continue to be one of the best ways to cope with the increased growth of your Data Center, Converged Network and which ever version  of the cloud and mobility you decide to go with.

7 Little Changes That'll Make a Big Difference With Your Data Centre

Little changes can bring the biggest rewards!

When it comes to IT Infrastructure little things can make a massive difference to efficiency and total cost of ownership (TCO). As technology becomes more readily available and accessible to end users these differences in how we manage and maintain our infrastructure are increasingly in the spotlight. Many of our clients have been updating their data centres to cope with the influx of service requirements being driven by the demand for mobile applications and end points to suit. All of which has left our old traditional approach to infrastructure in the past. This week I am going to share 7 little bits of advice on how you can improve what you are doing within your DC.

The nature of the Data Centre is changing… Are you ready for it?

Up until recently the classic “3-tier network” ruled the roost in the data centre, but as the data centre evolves and a new App-centric ethos takes hold, new challenges appear. With applications becoming more demanding and the push towards virtualisation in the enterprise, more companies are now starting to consider the benefits of Software Defined Networking (SDN) to overcome these challenges.

Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) is the global networking behemoths slant on SDN, and combined with their cutting edge Nexus 9k range of DC switches, they believe now is the time that you should all start looking at the transition… But what is ACI and why should you adopt it now?

Cisco ACI and IT Security

As our data centers start to change and the method by which information is moved around the business, new challenges are being presented everyday to network teams across the globe. Cisco ACI comes to the rescue with the automation of IT security policy provisioning across devices and servers, and sets up specific policies for each application and tenant using microsegmentation. Policy-based provisioning. For IT Security.
